The location for this gathering became obvious when a lot of the BMCU members agreed with the choice at our planning pot luck meeting in February. Diamond Lil’s is probably one of the most unique restaurants in Utah. If you can imagine Knott’s Berry Farm you’re there. It’s a total wild west saloon and eatin’ house both inside and out and seats 500 within the various rooms. It didn’t start out this way though, it was a modest home in 1969 and remodeled with old barn wood and cabin logs to seat 32. Prime rib and bread were baked in a home sized gas oven. That was then but the original charm is still there now. We were there two years back and we are going back again.
Our group was given a very comfy banquet room with two servers dedicated to just us. The owner came by to thank us and make sure all was well. The fare was as expected, generous and down home good so this turned out quite well.
The location is 1528 W. North Temple fairly near I215. If you can get to the Red Iguana keep going west and it’s on the right. Their website for directions and the menu is:
