The day dawned cool but clear as we met at the zoo for our fall color tour. A good mix of cars and drivers came out for the run up to Bald Mountain Pass. Starting at the zoo, we headed up Emigration Canyon towards Park City. After a short stop for gas and victuals we motored up Brown’s Canyon and on to the Mirror Lake road. Soapstone Basin provided the location for a nice picnic lunch down by the river. After lunch the group headed up to the top of the pass (10,715 ft) to enjoy the road and the view from the top. From there the group dispersed downward to whence they came.
Thanks to all for coming out, and to Roger Davis for the pictures and Paul Jaroch for selling the shirts and passing around the sign up list. A lovely, if chilly drive — I’ll admit I had the top up. A nice close to the driving season, now it’s time to think about those winter projects and getting things ready for next summer.
