If there weren’t changes in the weather, Utah would be a pretty boring place to live. As I write this, the prediction is for snow down to the valley floor, Tuesday. I guess that is the price we have to pay for the previous awesome, warm, Spring days.
But have no fear! Will will have our run to Eureka this coming Saturday, March 26. We will meet at the park in South Jordan at 11010 S. Redwood Rd. The time to meet is 10am. This is the park that we have used in the past for other runs and our Annual Memorial Day Tours to Southern Utah. The sun will be up and the temperature rising. Looks like it will be a bit cool, but you know what? Our British cars were designed for these temperatures. PERFECT!!!!
We will depart the park at 10:30am and proceed south on Redwood Rd. The first stop (other than stop lights) will come approximately 30 minutes later when we pull into the Chevron in Saratoga Springs to meet up with the Utah County contingent and for a restroom break. When we depart the Chevron, get ready for a beautiful, winding road through the foothills of Lake Mountain. An easy right hand turn onto the US 6 highway and we are only minutes away from our Eureka destination. The cooler weather will keep our LBC engines happy. Hey, they might even think that they are back in jolly old England!
B’s Hangout, right across the street from the High School, is where we will have lunch. It is a brand new building in the old mining town of Eureka. Eureka was founded in 1870 when ore was found there. In 1871 the first permanent buildings were built. The town’s elevation is 6430′ ASL and has over 700 residents.
Come and join us on a run that is close to home, yet the atmosphere is like miles away.
