Fantastic! Awesome! Unbelievable! Incredible! EPIC!!!!!
Those are but a few of the comments made Saturday on the Fall Colour Tour. As has been the case this season, the inclement weather in the first part of the morning, went away and blessed the BMCU with some perfect weather for our drive on the Nebo Loop. I think that we scared away the wet weather when Mother Nature saw that lots of members were showing up and that I had brought two (2) umbrellas and the “waterproof” sign in book that was given to me by Rob Foye.
Although the day began as a top up day, by the time we arrived at Steen and Arlene’s daughter’s home for lunch, the clouds had begun to dissipate and the sun to break through. The lunch was a gourmet spread that kept everyone commenting about how tasty and good the pulled pork and homemade cookies were. As we finished lunch, we declared the Nebo Loop drive to be a TOP DOWN affair.
There was very little traffic and the colors were out of this world. Each time we came to a corner we felt we had seen the best that could be offered. But around the next curve the spectacular scenery out did itself again. WOW, what an incredible drive! If you missed this one, you missed a World Class Color Tour!!! Check out our BMCU Facebook page for a plethora of photos and videos of the Color Tour! Thanks to all who took and posted your photos.
Highlights of the drive: Lots of good friends, scrumptious lunch (thanks Steen & Arlene), light traffic, cattle crossing the road (it is open range), wild turkeys, top down driving, best colors we’ve seen in years, perfect temperatures for humans and vehicles, FANTASTIC lunch provided by Steen & Arlene, members making an effort to come from as far north as Ogden, as far south as Ferron, and as far east as Woodland, Jill proclaims Arlene’s lemon cookies as sinfully good. There were 39 members who signed the book driving 22 vehicles. A darn fine showing!!! And, a lunch that was perfectly prepared by Steen & Arlene with excellent baked beans and, did I mention, homemade cookies!
Disclaimer: Take no offense if I’ve misspelled your name or forgotten to include you in this fine group of hearty BMCU members.
