That’s right! Only three days and a get out of bed until the BMCU’s last scheduled driving event, the Fall Color Tour. With the cool nights and warmer days, the colors are going to be spectacular. So do your pre-drive checks and join in as we enjoy the awesome Fall colors.
Remember to pack a lunch and perhaps a folding chair or a blanket.
๐The gathering point for the Tour is in the (Reams, Dollar Store, Walgreen’s) shopping parking lot, on the Southeast corner of the intersection of Fort Union Blvd (7000 S) and 2300 East in Cottonwood Heights. Meet at 9:30am ๐ค for a 10:00am๐ departure.
The route takes us East, up Big Cottonwood Canyon Rd, UT Hwy 190. Just past the Fire Station, 15.7 miles from the meeting location, make a SHARP LEFT towards Guardsman Pass (elevation 9717′) then down to Bonanza Flat where we’ll bear right onto Ut Hwy 222, Pine Canyon Dr.
CAUTION: DO NOT take the road to the left towards Park City at the split at Bonanza Flat. STAY RIGHT!
Continue down the canyon to just past Wasatch Mountain State Park, bearing left onto Pine Canyon Rd and onto 1050 North.
Continue through the traffic circle, taking the second exit onto River Rd. This will lead us to the stoplight at US 40.
At the stoplight, continue across the intersection and onto UT Hwy 32 (N State Rd) which takes us into Francis, UT.
We will take a brief side trip to the Kamas Food Town for a restroom, fuel & snack break (there is a Subway there if you need to pick up a lunch), before heading up UT Hwy 35 to the Wolf Creek Summit, elevation 9400′. Drew has pointed out that there is Ethanol free gas available in Kamas.
