Yes, indeed. If You Know You Know. Last weekend’s Color Tour was off the chain! The weather was incredible (remember last year’s snow?) and the Sorensen’s lunch and homemade baked goods were sooooo tasty. A big thanks to Steen and Arlene for once again hosting a pre-Nebo Loop luncheon. Your hospitality is surpassed by none.
The turn-out for this event brought over 45 members from northern parts of Utah and down to south central Utah. Good to see you, Kelly! Vehicle-wise there were at least 32 British cars. There have been over 100 pics posted on our email page and Facebook page! If you have not done so, take the time to go and check out the spectacular drive we had. The colors, the cars, the friends the scenery…it just goes on and on. This is what being a member of the British Motor Club of Utah is all about. The new members were amazed and the older members, well, they just were awestruck by the totally breathtaking event. Just when you think the BMCU couldn’t get any better, because of you, we do!
Thanks to everyone who turned out to enjoy their cars, the Fall Colors and their BMCU friends.
A note from Ron on the last few photos in the gallery:
These photos were taken right after a near tragic end to our trip. The Harley you see had entered a right bend (for him) just as I entered it from the other direction. He was carrying was too much speed considering the gravel that was on the surface which probably washed onto the road from the heavy rains we had a few days prior. He lost control and low-sided then caught it but was flying straight into me and a vicious collision. I jammed on the brakes and locked up the wheels. He managed to steer straight ahead and the front of my MGB missed colliding with his right side by mere inches. He then careened off the right side of the road and into the rocky hillside as I struggled not to do the same thing. I stopped and rushed back to see if he was okay. Other riders in his group also stopped and hurried to his aid. He said he was okay except for some chest injuries as he worked his trapped leg out from under the Harley. With more of his riding companions arriving on the scene we proceeded on our way a bit shaken from the incident but thankful that It wasn’t a much more serious accident. Had I been another 6 feet farther down the road I would have taken 1000 pounds of Harley directly in the driver’s door!
