f you were unfortunate enough to miss last weekend’s drive, coordinated by Clayton and Sharon, then you have a second chance to participate in a BMCU driving event, next week Monday, Labor Day. This is our annual Labor Day event and is one of the most popular driving events for the season.
Gather in the Public Parking lot in the northeast corner of the State Capitol grounds. The corner of 500 North and East Capitol Blvd. There are signs posted there, helping you find the lot. If you happened to be on last year’s Cruise, it is the same lot. Meet at 10am for a 10:30am departure. We’ll cruise south on State Street until we arrive at 11400 South. Then it’s three simple turns to the parking lot of JCW’s, where our reserved parking awaits. JCW’s – The Burger Boys, are happy we are returning, and look forward to seeing our cars.
If you have not been on a BMCU driving event for whatever reason, this is the PERFECT event for everyone; new members and old timers, alike.
- Check the “no” box for the following reasons for not going on this event:
- Afraid you’ll get lost – NO – there are only five (5) turns that you’ll need to make for the entire event: Capitol parking lot -> finishing at JCW’s
- The drive is too long – NO – the route is 19 miles long according to Google maps
- The drive is too short – NO – this route allows your vehicle fluids to get up to optimal operating temperature, not too long nor too short
- The drive is too slow – NO – Monday’s traffic will determine just how slow we may average, but it should not be stop & go
- The drive is too fast – NO – speed is determined by the municipalities we will pass through. All have posted speed limits under 50 mph
- I have to work – NO – Labor Day is a NATIONAL HOLIDAY and unless you work in a service industry, you should have the day off.
- It’s too far from home – NO – Come on! State Street runs down the CENTER of the Salt Lake Valley – close to just about everyone
- I have housework to do – NO – You’ll have plenty of time in the afternoon to get anything done that you didn’t do on Saturday & Sunday😁
- My car isn’t ready – N0 – You have a week to get your hot rod running – your daily driver is always welcome if the LBC isn’t ready
- I need to go shopping – NO – many stores are closed and banks are closed, also
These 10 are by no means a complete list of reasons we’ve heard for not participating in an event, but it covers most of the common ones.
CHECK YOUR YES BOX AND COME CRUISING STATE STREET!
