If you missed it, you REALLY missed it. The 35th Anniversary Alpine Loop & BBQ was nearly as spectacular as the winding roads and early Fall colors. Some of the pictures from last Saturday’s event are already posted on the Club Facebook page and there are many more coming. This was a really neat event. There were more people and cars than ever before, gathered to celebrate British motor vehicles.
A big thanks to all that participated and managed to squeeze into the large pavilion that the Club reserved. A HUGE thanks to Drew and Roger H for gathering and herding this BIG group through the beautiful Wasatch mountains. I believe everyone arrived at the Big Springs lunch site with only minimal problems. There were so many members signed up for this event, that we were still getting extra vittles Saturday morning! We also decided that we were going to need TWO large grills to get the food cooked in a timely manner. Thanks to Kent for manning the second grill. Jim, for taking on the virtually impossible task of fitting over 40 vehicles in a space designed for less than 20! For Lauri and Jill for making certain that the pavilion was clean, the area for the dishes, utensils, buns, and condiments was organized. Without the preparation and execution of the necessary tasks by these folks, the culmination of the event at the BBQ would not have happened. As it was, the place was ROCKIN’!
Roger H, I don’t know how you managed to drive the route, keep Drew apprised of the back half of the group, take pictures (see the BMCU Facebook page), sell Club merchandise and to eat. You had many balls in the air and did not drop one of them. Thank you for your efforts, donation and help.
In case you’re wondering, the count, as close as I can tell, was 70 members and 38 vehicles! I believe the founders of the British Motor Club of Utah would be proud of the celebration of the organization, that they started, many years ago. There was even a cake decorated with a British flag, for dessert!
Check out the photos of this event and put it on your calendar for 2024. That schedule will be out in just a few months and you won’t want to miss the 36th Alpine Loop Run & BBQ.
