August 24th is THE day — the day designated as this year’s Trappers Loop Drive! This drive is one of the oldest, continuous drives in the BMCU and is always well attended and a club favorite, so don’t miss it.
We are planning to meet as usual at the east end parking lot of Hogle Zoo, That’s on 800 South (which becomes Sunnyside Ave that far east) and 2600 East in SLC for those who may be unfamiliar. We plan to meet up at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am departure.
We’ll run up Emigration Canyon past East Canyon into Morgan where we’ll stop to take a load off for a bit at the Exxon station before heading down W Old Highway Road through Mountain Green. Then it’s up past Snow Basin and over Trappers (State Rte. 167) down into Ogden Valley and beautiful Pine View Reservoir. We’ll hang a left on SR39 and go down to the Pine View Dam and turn right on SR158.
We are planning to have lunch once again at The Mad Moose in Eden, where proprietor Mike Seguin has extended a warm welcome and has reserved the patio for the BMCU. They are looking forward to our return and enthusiastic to host us.
Following lunch, you are free to return home in whatever direction you choose, there are many from there.
We hope to see you next Saturday at 8:30 AM!
