Welcome to our FIRST DRIVING EVENT of the season!
***PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS, STATE REGULATIONS, AND FEAR GOING AROUND, PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO “COME AT YOUR OWN RISK”
We want everyone to feel safe so just keep “social distancing” in mind***
I WILL ALSO KEEP YOU UPDATED IF ANYTHING HAS TO CHANGE
It’s our 4th Annual Gary Meldrum Eureka Run!
AND YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY THIS YEAR IS SO SPECIAL?
THIS IS THE ACTUAL ANNIVERSARY OF GARY’S PASSING.
For those of you that do not know who Gary is/was, well, he was the BEST Uncle a Niece could ask for! Years ago he brought me to several of these BMC riding events so I had the WONDERFUL opportunity to meet the most amazing people, which I can call my friends!
Unfortunately, my Uncle went on his last BMC riding event to Eureka in 2016. He passed away two days later, on March 28th due to Heart Disease.
Gary passed down his 1976 Triumph TR6 (better known as Molly) to me and my husband Cory. I am so honored that the BMC dedicated this run in his name and to be able to drive Molly in his honor!
He was such a WONDERFUL human being inside and out, and boy did he LOVE his cigars on these runs!
Only 8 days until we meet up for this beautiful drive! Get your cars, lubed, oiled, and gassed up and ready to go!
- When: Saturday, March 28th
- Time: 9:30am for 10:00am departure
- Where: Meet at Intermountain Medical Clinic parking lot, 11400 South Redwood Road
We will be taking the ORIGINAL ROUTE we have taken prior to last year’s
There will be a “drain and gain” in Saratoga Springs at the Chevron on Redwood Road around 10:30am.
To “B’s or Not to B’s? That is the question!
I spoke to Brandon the owner at B’s Hangout and due to the state regulations right now from Coronavirus, they are “curbside only” right now, meaning, they will be coming out to the parking lot when we get there and take our orders and then go in and fill them and bring back out to us. If you do not want food from B’s then you are welcome to bring your own lunch. I do want to mention, when talking to Brandon, he was telling me how this Coronavirus regulation has been hurting them financially, that he would love it if we would get our lunch from them. Please consider since they have been serving us for years now and knows most of us.
Since we cannot dine in the restaurant, we can then go to the City Park for a picnic or you can bring some lawn chairs if you choose. Bring a jacket in case it is chilly.
The Forecast in South Jordan shows the high at 56 degrees and in Eureka 49 degrees partly cloudy. Will be a great day!
Hope you can join us for fun and to honor Gary
REMEMBER: “DRIVE ‘EM, DON’T HIDE ‘EM”
See you Saturday!
