The BMCU had it’s first impromptu event this past Sunday. Barry Engstrom was the mastermind for what turned out to be a very pleasurable drive. The intrepid group escaped the bounds of “Shelter in Place” and gathered at the east side of the State Capitol. Just to confuse the constabulary, we parked our LBCs backwards into the angled spots. lol The UHP promptly stationed their cruiser in a similar manner to keep an eye on the rowdy group, I guess.
We headed down State St and then turned and detoured through Liberty Park. Seemed like everyone stopped what they were doing to watch us parade by. From there, we headed east to the next closest, large park, Sugarhouse Park. Again, our LBCs brought waves and smiles from young and old.
The next destination was Murray Park, which allowed us to cruise more of State St. to get there. We even picked up another Detroit iron hot rod to drive with us. The creek was running high and members stomach’s were beginning to grumble, so we left to head to our final destination, Culver’s Frozen Custard, just west of I-15 in Midvale. There we indulged in just about every item on the menu. We kept our social distance by ordering from the drive thru window and then enjoyed the vittles from the comfort of our vehicles, in the parking lot.
Please check out the excellent photographic coverage, by Ron Christiansen, of this event.
