Meet at the Saratoga Springs Maverick Adventure Stop, 2023 RedwoodRoad, at 10:30 AM for a 11:00 AM Departure driving South on Hwy 68West side of Utah Lake (Nice new paved road) until the Stop sign atHwy 6, across from the old historic Sinclair Station. Turn left towardGoshen and Santaquin. Drive straight through Santaquin, go under theI-15 overpass and turn left at the signal light into the Maverickstation, for a quick “Drain & fill-up” ( about 40 miles) Then we willhead North on Hwy 198 toward Payson for about 4 miles. Watch for asmall sign “Lewis Feild” with a British flag. Turn left, drive .2miles to our daughters “B-Spur Ranch” on the left where lunch will beprovided. Plan to arrive a little after 12:00 Noon and depart at 1:00PM
From there we will continue North on Hwy 198 to Payson and turn righton 800 South going East to Mt. Nebo Loop Road, turn right to PaysonCanyon. The first stop will be a turn off on the second road toPayson Lakes. Follow the road and keep to the right for a short break.We have made arrangements for free park entry.We will plan to make a few other scenic view stops where spacepermits and Exit the Nebo Loop onto Hwy 132 turning right to Nephi,stopping for Drain and Gain before heading north. We estimate being inNephi about 3:00 PM. (The entire loop from Payson to Nephi is about 45miles)
Returning north, there is the I -15 Frwy option from Nephi for thosein a hurry to get home. We plan to drive from Nephi west side of theFrwy through Mona and back to Santaquin. From Santaquin, those goingback to Salt Lake can retrace the route to Hwy 6 and drive west ofUtah Lake through Elberta, Saratoga Springs and Redwood Road. Some maywish to take an optional route through Goshen canyon to Hwy 6, byturning left in Mona on 200 North. Utah County group can take theroute from Santaquin to Payson, Spanish Fork, Springville and ProvoEast side of the Frwy.
