Now it’s time to get ready for our next driving event: the Ogden Canyon/ North Ogden Divide Run, Saturday, April 23. This has always been a great, scenic drive. The Ogden Canyon is a wonderful, winding, road, up to Pineview Reservoir and the Eden valley. A quick climb up and through a geological wonder, known as the North Ogden Divide, provides amazing views of both Eden and Ogden valleys. We’ll head to A Little Taste of Britian, in Layton, for some of THE BEST Fish & Chips in Utah.
The folks from Salt Lake and points south will gather at 9 am in the north lot at the Warm Springs Park, 840 N 300 West, in Salt Lake. This is the location that we’ve used many times and may be familiar to you. At 9:30 am SHARP, we head out to rendezvous with the northern group. Timing restraints will have us taking Legacy Parkway and keep our pace no higher than 60mph. Legacy Parkway will lead us onto US89 by the Lagoon Amusement Park and allow us to maintain a 55-60 mph speed and NO STOPLIGHTS or turns until the mouth of the Weber Canyon. From there, it’s up the hill and a right hand turn onto Harrison Blvd for a ways, then a jog onto Valley Dr which will take us to Rainbow Gardens, 1851 Valley Dr, Ogden, located at the mouth of Ogden Canyon.
Northern members should meet at 10:30am in the Rainbow Gardens parking lot (1851 Valley Dr, Ogden). The Ogden meeting location also allows for a quick restroom break if needed. From here, Tour coordinator Kent will guide us for the beautiful drive culminating at A Little Taste of Britian.
