The turnout for
this important event was next to landmark. More than 30 cars
and drivers were present for the annual trek over the Alpine
Loop. |
|
A large
contingent met in Sandy for the launch at our traditional meeting
place in the South Towne Mall parking lot. |
|
As
our departure time drew closer, cars just kept arriving. By the
time we were ready to leave, the lot looked like a 70's UK shopping
center. |
|
10
AM and it's time to motor. The plan was to avoid the freeway
and stick to the frontage roads. Bill Robinson led the way...
and quickly lost a large portion of the group. |
|
But
then everyone caught up at our usual meeting place in Pleasant
Grove to pick up the southern delegates. |
|
From
there Bruce Schilling wanted "first air" and headed
the caravan over the loop... and quickly lost a large portion
of the group! |
|
We picnicked in Heber
and had a large raffle with a bunch of great prizes donated by
members' businesses as well as some outside sponsors. |
|
After
the drawing was completed, one group went to ride the Heber Creeper
while others went to Healey days at the Heber airport and the
rest wandered off on their separate ways. It was a fine day and
a great event with a wonderful turn out. Thanks to Bruce Schilling,
Bill Robinson and Mitch Johnson for submitting these pictures. |
