Too much beer - couldn't focus! |
The social at Bruce Schilling's house was another huge success. Everyone brought interesting things to eat and Bruce provided burgers and beer. Car and racing talk abounded. Since the weather was cooperative, many folks showed up in their cars. We noticed 3 Spits, a TR6, an MGB an MGTD (or F) and a Ferrari (the owner's manual was in English, so we figured it was OK). Your faithful web master did not bring a camera, but we will post other photos if anyone took any and sends them in. Watch for additional commentary in the September newsletter. |

Amid sunshine and
shadows, a group of 12 cars gathered at the Wal-Mart store at
Kimball Junction in Park City, looking forward to a great ride
up to Trial Lake in the Uintas. After parking the cars just below
the Trial Lake Dam, we took a quarter-mile hike, following the
Provo River to a group of rock shelves, like giant steps, with
water from Washington Lake cascading down, giving everyone a
chance to step, jump, or wade from one rock to another, until
we found a dry ledge that would accommodate all of us for lunch. We had a relaxing lunch with lots of chatter, after which the group took their leave and headed back upstream to the cars. We drove through the camping area at the lake, and then headed back down the highway, stopping in Kamas for an ice cream cone and a visit to a local antique shop. The BMCU Club 90 night in Sandy was fun for those who dared to venture out. This year's turnout was a little smaller than last due to the weather, but those who came out were treated to a good time. For more info, click here to read the August Newsletter. |

The End of Season
Dinner was held on Saturday, October 27 at Famous Dave's Barbecue.
The grub was absolutely great. The restaurant isn't really set
up to handle large groups, so we were sort of spread out in a
couple different locations. Ultimately, everyone found everyone
else. A good time was had by all. Only 2 British cars were to
be seen - Bill Walton and Bill Robinson each showed up in their
cars. Everyone else came in their OC's (Other Cars). While this dinner marks the official end of the club driving season, there are still events to attend throughout the winter. Watch the web site and the newsletter for new events. |
