Brits on the Bridge
Brits on the Bridge
The weather was picture perfect, although a bit breezy, for Brits on the Bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. British car owners from all over the Western US were in attendance for the 3rd annual show put on by the Arizona MG Club. Saturday morning's events got under way with a Funkana with tests of skill such as balancing your car on a teeter-totter, driving a slalom blindfolded directed by your passenger, and guessing the width of you car by driving between two poles after you set the distance apart.
Saturday afternoon's event was a Poker Run through the desert to the historic mining town of Oatman, Arizona. Driving through the streets there was made more fun by the burros that walk through the streets seeking treats and attention.
The car show on Sunday ended early due to the high winds, but a nice selection of cars turned out. Mark and Joyce Noeltner were the only BMCU members to enter their car in the show and attracted a lot of attention with their DeLorean.
Club members Bill Robinson, Bill Walton, Simon Pipe, and Tim Furner were in Lake Havasu to see the sights and visit with Membership Director Bruce Schilling who has a boat on the lake. MG owner Peter Gordon also stopped by to visit Bruce.
Over the weekend Bruce took the folks listed above out on the lake for the island tour. The weather was beautiful and so was the scenery. Thanks to Bruce for the great rides!
