Poker, Smoker, Let's Play 21!
Due to the large turn out, the April 25 Poker Run turned into a 'round the town 21
game. At the start in Liberty Park, contestants were given two cards in a sealed
envelope and a quiz involving British cars and movie actors. The procession then
followed organizer Stewart Nichols like ducks after their Momma 'round the town to
selected classic car restoration garages and collections, where worthy vehicles were either on display or undergoing loving care (read:
rustectomies).
After a victory was declared on the tour, contestants retired to the Pub in Trolley Square, where an award was were given for the best 21 hand (16 total), and papers were corrected for the British car and actor quiz. No winner was declared for the latter, but rumor has it that Kay Jennings showed vast knowledge in this area.
Participants included Stewart and Nikki Nichols, Jon and Susan Hermance, Rich Goodman, Gary and Margaux Lindstrom, Todd and Connie Pixton, Larry and Margaret Farrington, Mike and Susan Bailey, Bill Van Moorhem, J. and Kay Jennings, John and Barbara Progess, Larry and Mary Bishop, Dan Kasha, and Rob Green. Apologies as always to folks we (missed).
